Schedule

We’re not done, but this is what we have so far.  Be sure to get here early. Our hosts, Vespa Motorsport, Secret Society, the Pharaohs, & San Diego Scooter Squadron are putting together one great event. Our first scooter raffle will be on Thursday evening at the Vespa Motorsport Meet N’ Greet! Be sure to sign up on the Amerivespa Twitter page and our Facebook page to stay informed on times and any changes. Times are subject to change. Your badge verifies that you are eligible to participate in all events. Badges will be issued when you pick up your rally bag. We’re going to fill in times so keep posted.  Full ride descriptions for the weekend are at the Ride Descriptions Page.

Thursday – Registration and rally bag pick up at Vespa Motorsport starts at 9:00.  Full registration will be available (unless sold out) onsite for purchase through Friday. Hours will be posted. Thursday rides include coastal rides led by San Diego Scooter Squadron. In the evening we’ll be at Vespa Motorsport for the Meet N’ Greet. Food and refreshments will be provided. We will raffle off our first scooter on Thursday night! A Vespa LX 150, donated by Vespa Motorsport, will be raffled off. Catch up with old friends. Maybe you’ll win a scooter before the weekend starts!

Friday – Pre breakfast ride with the Pharaohs. One of the ride highlights this year is an escorted ride across the Mexico border by the Pharaohs. You’ll ride to the seaside village of Puerto Nuevo and return to the Portuguese Hall where our first day of vending starts at noon. You must have a valid passport to cross the border. Times will be posted as they are firmed up.  Registration and rally bag pick up will be continued at Vespa Motorsport from 9:00 – 10:30 and at the Portuguese Hall from 12:00 noon.

Vendors – We are at the Portuguese Hall parking lot. There is power available around the perimeter of the outside lot. Bring some shade. This is an outdoor vendor show. We will start loading in around 10:30- 11:00 with a scheduled opening at noon.

Check out the Vespa and scooter memorabilia display in the Portguese Hall S.E.S provided by Alex Cohn, Sean Needham, and Eric Dutra. There will be other rides throughout the day.

Concours participants – If you have a scooter that you’re entering in the Concours d’ Elegance competition, you may have the option of displaying your scooter on Friday in addition to Saturday. We don’t have confirmation yet. We will post as soon as we find out.

Friday dinner is on your own. Dine in Old Town or Gaslamp Quarter. Don’t want to scoot to dinner? Take the light rail from the Fashion Valley station at the back of the T&C Resort.

Get back in time for a great evening concert with the English Beat at the Town and Country resort. No host bar will be available. This is an all age event. ID’s will be checked for alcohol purchases. This is the only event where you may purchase tickets at the door for $25. The Beat will be selling some of their merchandise at the concert.

Saturday – Rides and Vendor Show continue. Saturday evening we’re going to have our concours awards dinner and banquet and after party at the T&C Resort. A full blown fashion show will be presented by Vespa Motorsport during dinner.  We’re going to bring out the red carpet for this show. You must have your badge to enter the banquet dinner. Two Vespa 50s provided by Piaggio Group Americas will be raffled off together. These will be special edition Vespa 50s customized by Vespa USA.

The after party continues after a special recognition given to our friend Janice Ashrat, who passed away in November. Janice was an unforgettable personality who epitomized the passion for Vespas and scooters that we share. Everyone remembers how she pushed Vespa P200 through several Cannonballs. Crashes and accidents never kept Janice from completing her journeys. It’s only right that we recognize Janice for her spirit and uniqueness. We will celebrate her life with music to dance the night away provided by the Inciters from Santa Cruz CA.

Sunday – Final rides and raffle. We’ll have scooters and quite the haul of donated items for our raffle. Amerivespa is known for its extensive raffle and this year will be no exception. We haven’t quite decided where our closing ceremonies will be, but it’s got to hold all of our stuff!
